TEAM-WORKS Academy builds Strong Minds, Strong Bodies and Strong Character in underserved youth. Currently, the program is based in three American Indian and Alaskan Native communities (Tulalip, Muckleshoot and Anchorage) and offers after-school and Saturday academy during the school year and summer Sports & Leadership camp free-of-charge. We work to ensure our students develop the skills and knowledge they need to enjoy healthy, prosperous lives, within their communities and beyond. We employ a cross-cultural, partnership-based approach that provides sustainable, high-impact services.

Our objective is to provide a culturally-supportive learning environment that equips students with the skills and confidence to achieve success both personally and in the classroom. Our goal is to holistically address the common barriers of American /Alaska Native and at-risk youth in traditional classroom environments, including low self-esteem, learning gaps, high absenteeism and dropout rates, substance abuse and other health issues. The intended outcomes for the TEAM-WORKS Academy students are consistent school attendance, increased participation in physical activities and proper nutrition, and increased confidence through fostering a desire for higher personal and academic achievement. Through team-work we empower our students to make healthy choices in every area of their life.
